World’s largest chemical company BASF, will tomorrow morning launch its first chemical plant in Nairobi – its East African headquarters.
The company has its eyes fixed in sale of innovative construction chemicals for the booming construction industry in the region.
It is also eyeing deals in distribution of crop protection products like pesticides to boost local crop yields.
The company had earlier said it is expanding its business in the consumer sector to include personal care, laundry detergents and pharmaceuticals to meet a high demand in the market owing to growth in the middle class and changing lifestyles.
Plans are geared to double its sales volumes through the new office and other new markets by 2020 from current Sh 117 billion.
