Singaporean telecommunication firm, Sing Tel, handset maker, Samsung and telcom infrastructure provider Ericsson have brockered a deal to unveil first commercial 300Mbps 4G LTE-Advanced service for smartphones.
The service will go live from Aug 23 when the trio unveils a handset compatible with 4G LTE-Advanced network, the Samsung GALAXY S5 4G+ is lunched.
Samsung becomes the second mobile phone maker to unveil smartphones running on high speed network after Huawei launched its flagship brand last month.
SingTel has been working with its mobile network equipment provider, Ericsson, to rapidly expand its 4G LTE-Advanced network across Singapore.
“From streaming videos to web surfing and uploading selfies, customers are doing more with their smartphones. With this launch, SingTel customers will be the first in the world to enjoy the benefits of the fastest phone on the fastest network,” said SingTel’s Managing Director of Networks,Tay Yeow Lian.
“We are constantly enhancing our networks with the latest technologies to provide our customers with the best possible experience for today’s increasingly bandwidth-hungry applications,” he said.
