In what could change the way Kenyans travel, smart transportation provider Mondo Ride made major announcements this weekend.

After slashing rates to a level which make hired car rides cheaper for travelers across all categories, it has now announced a customer-friendly initiative by introducing ‘Happy Hours’ for all its customers.

‘Happy Hours’ for customers,  will mean no price escalation during peak travel hours leaving rates unchanged and uniform 24×7.

This takes off the worry of customer’s head of paying more during peak traffic hours and also at times when there are lesser number of cars for hire on road as compared to the demand.

Price escalation (surge pricing) is customary with other service providers in the hired car hailing space today which leads to fares going as high as 3 times the normal during peak hours.

The company management, on Thursday had announced a reduction in its fares in the Standard category, bringing them down to 3 KES per minute and 45 KES per KM with a base fee of 100 KES.

It had lowered its fares in the Budget category to 3 KES per minute and 35 KES per KM with a base fee of 100 KES.

The time charge has been brought down from 4 KES to 3 KES and all the new lowered rates across categories have come into effect from 00:00 hours on Friday, 23rd September 2016.

Both the above customer-friendly pricing initiatives catapult Mondo Ride in a leading position as it already enjoys a better reputation over its peers for having taken all steps to ensure safety, security, timeliness and convenience of customers.

This combined with the robust technological backend ensures a smooth user experience while navigating through the mobile app.

Many focused customer groups like office-goers, parents dropping students to school, college goers, tourists and even business users and professionals moving in and out of the city have given an encouraging “go-ahead” to these initiatives of Mondo Ride.

The company aims to provide comfort and convenience of one’s own vehicle in each of the cars it
facilitates hiring and ensures customer delight.

Commenting on the development, Troels Andersen, Global CEO, Mondo Ride said, “Kenya is one of the fastest growing markets in Africa and will be the hub for East Africa.

It is an important destination for business and leisure travel.

Our vision is to provide a seamless transportation solution by enabling people of Kenya to hire a car in less than five minutes.

We will thus ensure that crisscrossing across the city is hassle-free and enjoyable.

With our comprehensive services and the introduction of “Happy Hours”, we intend to delight customers.

I would also like to welcome our driver partners and wish them all the best as they lead our foray into these markets by being our on-ground brand ambassadors.”
