Mobile operator Safaricom is set to launch a cab service in partnership with a Kenyan software firm. Dubbed Littlecabs, the service is intended to rival Uber, which operates on a mobile app which connects cab drivers to customers.
Launched in Kenya last year, Uber has entered into a pact with Sidian Bank to provide car loans to its drivers through a Sh10 billion fund. The bank will provide up to a maximum of Sh1.5 million, repayable in three years.
