Kenya’s apparel and garments exports to US grew by 14 per cent to Sh34.6 billion on extension of the preferential trade pact that gives the country’s products duty-free access to the world’s largest economy.
Renewal of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (Agoa) has also seen firms domiciled at the Export Processing Zones (EPZ) employ additional 4,000 workers, according to data from Kenya National Bureau of Statistics published in the 2016 Economic Survey.
