Kenya’s Uwezo Fund Oversight Board has advanced consultations with key stakeholders to identify any glaring gaps in the Public Finance Management system.
Ministry of devolution and planning, said this would help remove stringent rules hampering uptake of funds by youth and women.
Cabinet Secretary, Ann Waiguru said the ministry would also move to propose amendments to parliament ‘if and when it becomes necessary to do so.’
“I firmly believe that we are on the right track we have had the benefit to avoid mistakes of similar past interventions,” said Waiguru.
She encouraged the Constituency Committees, the Uwezo Oversight Board and every stakeholder to stand shoulder to shoulder, trust in one another to overcome subsequent challenges.
