Top three consumer notebook and tablet vendor, Asus has today announced the introduction of its new generation Transformer T300chi (notebook) and the Zenbook UX305 (Ultrabook) in Kenyan market.
The Transformer T300chi notebook which is a 2-in-1 hybrid device features 1.26cm razor thin fan-less design, 12.5 inch WQHD (2560*1440) touch screen, and Intel Core M processor.
The device which is an improvement of its Transformer line of 2-in-1 notebooks will retail at Sh 119,999.
The Zenbook UX 305 Ultrabook on the other hand is a ultimate fit and gorgeous design 13.1 inch laptop with only 12.3mm and 1.2 kg, , Core M processor, 8 GB RAM and 256GB SSD, Windows 8.1 operating systemand metallic exterior. The device is priced at KES 99,999 .
Speaking during the company’s product launch that coincided with an event to celebrate its dealers and vendors, Alvin Huang , Asus Pan African manager said it will continue producing innovative and more differentiated products that match the current technological trends.
“Our products also fit with today’s consumers needs who would want to multi task whilst having the convenience of mobility.”
The introduction of the new devices comes at a time when the multinational is looking to increase its EMEA PC unit shipments. The PC maker hopes that this will in turn drive its growth further strengthening its PC market share across the region.
In its business operations, the IT multinational has indicated that it will focus on channeling its resources towards strengthening its partnership with its dealers and vendors across major local towns in efforts to reinforcing its EMEA PC market.
“Our vendors are critical to our overall business goals. It is for this reason that Asus will continue to work closely with them so as to reach our consumers in various parts and key cities like Kisumu, Mombasa and Eldoret.” said Mr. Huang.
Going forward, Asus will continue to strengthen its business in the convergence PC market by creating synergies through merging of various PC form factors to create innovative end products that address its consumer’s local needs.
Other products that were showcased included the X205T notebook and the Transformer Book Flip TP 300 laptop.
The X205T is an 11.6 inch netbook that has the current Intel and Microsoft reference netbook platform-that have been laid out for cheap tablets and laptops. The Transformer Flip TP 300 is a 13.3 inch 360 degree rotating laptop designed for work, play and everything in-between.
