Bharti Airtel has successfully integrated close to 300,000 Yu Mobile customers into its network, to cement its position as the second biggest mobile operator in Kenya after Safaricom.
The process which started in August 2014 has seen the 2.55 million yu Mobile customers successfully integrated into the Airtel network, pushing its customer base to over eight million and a 26.6 percent customer market share.
While confirming the successful integration, Airtel Kenya CEO Adil El Youssefi said, The move of yu Mobile customers to the Airtel network guarantees them a whole new-world of quality experience while they continue to enjoy all the existing services.
“This is a great beginning to a journey with our loyal customers and for the economy as a whole. The successful completion of this acquisition re-affirms Airtel’s commitment to offer a choice of quality products and innovative services to its customers in Kenya.” said Youssefi.
yu Mobile customers will also retain their existing mobile numbers, continue to enjoy their yu Mobile services including Ksh3 yu Mobile calls to other networks.
Other benefits include free yu Mobile-to-yu Mobile calls, SMS rates at Sh1 yu Mobile-to-yu Mobile and Sh2 yu Mobile to other networks and valued added services.
